Once your organisation has deployed the Figma Plugin, each user will need to set up the Figma plugin by adding it to their own Figma account.

Setting up the Red Marker Figma Plugin for the first time:

  1. Before using the Red Marker plugin, ensure that you are logged into your Figma account and your Figma account is linked to your organization.

  2. Ensure that you have Edit permissions in the Teams and design files where you wish to use the plugin. Edit permissions are required to use plugins. If you do not have Edit permissions, contact your Figma administrator.

  3. Select the design file from the file browser.

  4. Within the Figma Editor, right click and hover over “Plugins”, then hover "From <your company>. You should see the Red Marker plugin available as an option.

  5. You can now use the Red Marker plugin in files where you have Edit permissions.

Note: if your organization has recently updated the Figma plugin, do not use the Red Marker plugin in "Recents" as this will cause an error.

If you can't see the Red Marker plugin after following the above instructions, try these troubleshooting steps:

  1. Log out and back into Figma to reload your plugins.

  2. Double check you have Edit permissions in the Teams and design files where you wish to use the plugin.

  3. Try accessing the plugin on the desktop app:

    1. Download the Figma desktop app and sign in.

    2. From the file browser, click All teams or All workspaces.

    3. Select the Plugins header at the top of the page.

    4. Browse through any plugins that are private to your organization.

    5. Click the ↓ Save button to add the plugin to your account.
