Google Docs Collaborative Review FAQs

I can’t see my colleague's dismissals / replies

This could be because:

  1. You are looking at the review at the same time your colleague is dismissing or replying to risks.

Note: The Add-on does not currently support real time collaboration and you must re-load the review by closing and re-opening the add-on to see these further actions.

  2. The review has been re-run. When this happens, previous dismissals and replies are removed.

I’ve opened the document in my own Google Drive and I can’t see any previous reviews

New copies of a Google Doc are treated separately - even if the document contents are the same. To access any previous reviews, you must open Red Marker in the same document where the review was originally run.

Do I still need the Approvals feature?

Yes. The Approvals feature offers a range of benefits in addition to being able to see colleague’s previous comments and actions on a review, including: long term storage of the asset for retrieval and reporting purposes; predetermined sequencing of key stakeholders; an audit trail with metrics about date/ time of document approval.
