Creating a New Sentence Similarity Rule:

Navigate to Rules in Red Marker. Hover over ‘Create Your Own Rule’ in the top right-hand corner and click on 'Sentence Similarity.'

Firstly, decide on a scenario, for example, you may want to make sure that any guarantee, claim, or so on for a savings reference is supported with proof or a qualifier. You have these examples that you want to use to find similar non-compliant sentences in your documents:

Save $1000 annually with our low-rate credit cards.
Our customers achieve fantastic savings with our economical credit cards.
Our credit cards provide the best savings on the market.
We guarantee you will save money with our low-rate credit cards.
Take charge of your debt and save money with our low-rate credit cards.

Starting with at least 5 non-compliant example sentences is recommended.

(Optional) You also have these compliant example sentences:

You could save up to $1000 annually with our low-rate credit cards.
Our customers’ feedback proves their fantastic savings compared to other credit cards.
We believe our credit cards provide the best savings on the market right now.
We guarantee you will save money with our low-rate credit cards, or we will refund the annual fee.
You could take charge of your debt by saving money on our credit card rates.

To create compliant examples, you can:

  • Turn your non-compliant examples into compliant examples, or

  • Create some compliant examples that are relevant to the scenario and could be incorrectly deemed risky by our AI.

Add these examples to their respective list in the Create / Edit rule page, along with your rule's title and description:

For a bulk upload, copy all the sentences, making sure that each is on a separate line, and paste them into the textbox in the list. Click the + button or press your return/enter key and each line will be converted into a separate entry in the list.

Once you have added everything you wish to add, set your rule live by switching the toggle in the upper right-hand corner on:

You're now ready to upload a document to test out your sentence similarity rule!

Testing and Updating the Rule:

You can try out your rule by running a review the usual way. Any content similar in meaning to a non-compliant example, but dissimilar to any compliant example is deemed non-compliant by Red Marker and highlighted. If any of the content identified is not the type of content you wish to identify, simply add the sentence to your ‘Ignore’ list for that rule, and our system will learn to not identify sentences similar to those in future reviews. Similarly, if any content in the document is not identified by your rule, and you wish it to be, simply add those sentences to the ‘Find’ list for that rule, and our system will learn to identify sentences similar to those in future reviews.
