When you upload a document to Red Marker, we will scan the document with your automated compliance requirements looking for any content within the document that may pose a compliance risk.

Once the document is uploaded, it will take you to our review page. A PDF of the document will be on the right, and any content that has triggered a compliance requirement will be listed on the left.

The content for review will be listed in the order it appears in the document.

Red Marker will show you the rule that has been triggered, and the content that has triggered this rule.

To view more information, click on the rule/content and it will expand to give you more information including the feedback and suggested corrective action. It will also show you where the content is within the document.

Once you have reviewed the content and have determined whether it represents a risk or not, you have two options:

If you consider the content to pose a compliance risk, you can add your own comment or instruction in the Reply box which will get added as an annotation to the document and appear when you download the Annotated PDF.

If you do not consider the content to pose a compliance risk, you can use the 'x' in the top right to dismiss the rule and content. It will appear as 'Dismissed' and you can use the X again to un-dismiss the content if you change your mind.

You can also filter the highlighted content by rule, by clicking the slider icon:

This will expand the window to show all the rules that have triggered on your document, and you can click on the rule to show you the content that the rules has triggered on:

Once you have reviewed all the highlighted content, you can download the Annotated PDF to send to your content creators, and mark the document as reviewed.
